The pre-release press meet of this movie was held in Hyderabad, where Hero Prithviraj Sukumaran, director Blessy, Hollywood actor Jimmy Jean Lewis, producer Y Ravi Shankar from Maitri, and Shashi participated.

During the event, hero Prithviraj Sukumaran explained that the movie is based on a true story about a man named Najeeb who migrated to Gulf countries in the 90s for a better life. The movie portrays the hardships he faced during this journey. Najib is alive among us, and he wrote a book called “Goat Days” that was published in 2008 in Kerala. After its publication, the book became very popular, and every director, hero, and producer in Kerala tried to get the rights of this novel.

Finally, director Blessy got those rights, and Prithviraj Sukumaran got the chance to act as Najeeb. The movie was originally planned in 2008, but it was impossible to spend the required budget for this film at that time.

However, Malayalam movies’ popularity has increased significantly since then, and they were able to start shooting in 2019. They faced challenges such as covid lockdowns, weight loss and gain, and shooting in unique locations, but the team managed to complete the shooting by 2022.
