Vasudheva Sutham: Director Vykunt Bonu Talks Mythology, Mani Sharma’s Music and Upcoming Films

Mythology, family emotions and action come together in director Vykunt Bonu’s latest film, Vasudheva Sutham, which is now streaming on aha. Produced by Dhanalaxmi Badarla under the Rainbow Cinemas banner, the Telugu film explores a story inspired by the sacred setting of the Puri Jagannath Temple.

Vykunt Bonu’s evolving journey as a filmmaker

Director Vykunt Bonu continues to build his filmography with stories that explore different themes. Following his earlier work, including Jajimalli, he describes Vasudheva Sutham as his fourth directorial venture. The film brings together mythological references, action, suspense and family sentiment in a contemporary narrative.

A story shaped by faith and a fight to protect the sacred

Set against the spiritual backdrop of the Puri Jagannath Temple, the story revolves around the sacred Brahma Padartham and the attempts of antagonists to misuse its power. The protagonist, Kishan, faces a series of challenges as he tries to stop them. The narrative also draws a parallel with the idea of standing up for one’s sister, connecting an ancient mythological inspiration with a present-day character and conflict.

References to Narasimha Swamy, Garuda and Vasuki add to the film’s mythological framework. Through these elements, the director aims to combine devotional themes with a suspense-driven, family-oriented entertainer.

Master Mahendran leads the cast

Master Mahendran plays the lead role. The film also features Ambika Vani, John Vijay, Mime Gopi, Rajeev Kanakala, Suresh Chandra Menon and other performers. Their characters contribute to the film’s conflict, emotional moments and dramatic progression.

Mani Sharma’s music adds to the film’s atmosphere

Music director Mani Sharma composed the songs and background score. According to Vykunt Bonu, the music is one of the film’s key highlights, helping shape the emotional and suspenseful moments. The background score plays an important role in supporting the story’s mythological and action-oriented setting.
