Bollywood Actress Wamiqa Gabbi Launches Project Miss South India UK in Hyderabad
Hyderabad, August 8: In a grand ceremony held at Hotel Taj Deccan, Bollywood actress Wamiqa Gabbi officially launched the inaugural Project Miss South India UK. The event garnered significant attention from media and social communities.
Scheduled to run from July 2025 to July 2026, this initiative aims to empower young women aged 18–28 of Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam descent residing in the UK. The project seeks to celebrate their cultural heritage, talents, and leadership qualities, providing a prestigious platform for their growth.
Speaking at the launch, Wamiqa Gabbi remarked, “Miss South India UK is not merely a beauty pageant; it’s a celebration of our culture and the dignity of women on an international stage. I’m honored to be part of this journey.”
The project will feature regional titles such as Miss Telugu UK, Miss Tamil UK, Miss Kannada UK, and Miss Malayalam UK. The grand finale, to be held in the UK, will include traditional attire showcases, talent performances, Q&A sessions, and cultural displays, promising a spectacular event.
Winners will receive cash prizes worth lakhs, crowns, modeling opportunities, and the chance to represent their communities globally. The final event is expected to attract a live and online audience of 3.5 lakh viewers, with social media views projected to reach millions.
The event will see collaborations with top designers like Manish Malhotra, Sabyasachi, and Neerus, as well as leading brands such as Tanishq, Lakshmi, VLCC, Zee TV, and Taj Hotels. Partnerships with South Indian communities in the UK and prominent influencers are also planned.
Registrations and promotional activities will commence soon, with events lined up in India and the UK.
Organizers emphasized that Project Miss South India UK transcends a beauty pageant, serving as a movement to showcase cultural pride and inspire a new generation of women dedicated to societal progress.
