Happy Birthday Bobby Simha: National Award-Winning Actor Celebrates Another Year as His 25th Film Builds Buzz

Happy Birthday to Bobby Simha! The acclaimed actor, known for his intense screen presence and ability to move between varied characterisations, celebrates his birthday on November 6. Over the years, Simha has built a distinctive place in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam cinema by choosing roles that allow him to explore different shades of performance.
For audiences who first noticed him in supporting and negative-shade roles, his journey has been one of steady transformation. From sharply etched characters to emotionally layered performances, Bobby Simha has shown that a memorable actor need not be confined to one image.
From breakthrough performances to National recognition
One of the defining milestones in Bobby Simha’s career was his performance as Assault Sethu in Karthik Subbaraj’s Jigarthanda. The role earned him the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor at the 62nd National Film Awards. The recognition brought wider attention to an actor whose work had already stood out in films such as Soodhu Kavvum and Neram.
His filmography has since included a range of projects and genres. He has appeared in films including Iraivi, Petta, Mahaan, 777 Charlie, Waltair Veerayya and Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire. These projects have introduced his performances to audiences across different language industries and helped underline his versatility.
A performer who embraces contrasting characters
Bobby Simha’s strength lies in the detail he brings to a role. Whether playing a menacing antagonist, a conflicted character or a supporting part that adds weight to the story, he often relies on controlled expressions and character-specific body language rather than a single screen formula. His choices have allowed him to work with filmmakers across Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam cinema.
His journey is also a reminder of the value of character actors in shaping a film’s emotional and dramatic impact. Strong supporting performances can give a story texture, create tension and leave a lasting impression even after the lead character’s scenes have ended.
Bobby Simha #25: A new Telugu-Tamil project
Adding another milestone to his career, Bobby Simha is set to headline his 25th film, currently referred to as Bobby Simha 25. The Tamil-Telugu bilingual project is directed by Meher Yaramati and produced by Yuva Krishna under the Yuva Productions banner. Hebah Patel is paired with Simha, while Tanikella Bharani and Surya Srinivas are part of the supporting cast.
The film was officially launched with a pooja ceremony in December 2025. Its announced technical team includes cinematographer J Krishna Das, music composer Siddharth Sadashivuni, art director Vivek Annamalai and writers Vamsi K and Yashwant Sana. The project is particularly notable as it brings Bobby Simha into a lead role for a Telugu-focused audience after his earlier appearances in Telugu cinema.
With the film marking his 25th outing as a lead performer, expectations will centre on the story, the character he plays and how the bilingual narrative connects with audiences. The makers have not announced a confirmed theatrical release date in the information currently available.
